Welcome back to the musical section of Perform School of music. This week, we delve into the world of an internationally acclaimed artist and highly skilled blues guitarist, John Mayer.
Born in the late seventies, Mayer developed his musical prowess by listening to blues legends such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix. After a brief academic experience at the renowned Berklee College, Mayer moved to Atlanta, where he began performing at various local venues. In the meantime, he released his first EP, "Inside Wants Out" (1999), followed a couple of years later by the album "Room for Squares". The arrangements bear resemblance to pop-rock styles reminiscent of Sting and Dave Matthews, and the album proved to be such a success that it earned Mayer a Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
Today, we present a single from this album, "Your Body Is a Wonderland." Enjoy listening!
