Let's resume our week dedicated to the most illustrious composers of the last decades in the history of cinema. Today we talk about Alan Silvestri.
Alan Silvestri is one of the most acclaimed composers and conductors in the American film industry. Growing up in Teaneck, New Jersey, he demonstrated exceptional musical talent from a young age. After graduating from Teaneck High School in 1968, he attended the Berklee College of Music for two years before moving to Los Angeles in 1970 to pursue his passion for music and cinema. The beginning of Silvestri's career was marked by extraordinary determination. In 1972, despite his lack of experience, he accepted to compose the score for the low-budget action film "The Doberman Gang," paving the way for an endless series of collaborations. Among these, his partnership with director Robert Zemeckis was particularly fruitful, with Silvestri composing the music for most of his films, including the renowned "Back to the Future" trilogy, "Forrest Gump," and "The Polar Express." In addition to his work with Zemeckis, Silvestri has also scored numerous other successful films, including "Predator," "The Abyss," and several films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, such as "The Avengers" and "Avengers: Endgame."
