Your tracks don't sound like the ones you hear on the radio? The Music Production course at Perform School of music is just what you need!

The Music Production course is designed for those who want to delve into the vast world of music production for either amateur purposes or to achieve a recognized international qualification. In fact, for those aiming to obtain the international qualification, the course includes the optional completion of exams at Grade 5 and 8 levels (click here for more information). The Music Production course is designed for those who want to delve into the vast world of music production for either amateur purposes or to achieve a recognized international qualification. In fact, for those aiming to obtain the international qualification, the course includes the optional completion of exams at Grade 5 and 8 levels (click here for more information). Participation in the course does not require minimum prerequisites, as after an assessment by the teacher, the student is placed in the class deemed most suitable for their level of preparation (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced).

The course provides an overview of the principles of acoustical physics, the main equipment used in various scenarios (recording studios, outdoor stages, home studios, etc.) and their applications, the key aspects of contemporary audio and multimedia production, and its numerous professional roles. At the same time, special attention is given to the essential listening and analytical skills in the context of modern production. For this reason, the course also covers aspects closer to the world of music theory and composition.

Among the activities regularly carried out by students in different modules, we include recording, editing, mixing, and finalizing a song; managing a live event in its various phases; composing and producing original songs in different genres (pop, electronic, rock, orchestral); complete sound design for musical and non-musical materials, including trailers and other audiovisual products.

To assess learning and potential admission to the next level, tasks, projects, and tests are regularly assigned throughout the year to evaluate the progress of learning. At the end of the year, the student presents a project to the teacher, accompanied by a thesis that must encompass what has been learned during the year.

For optimal participation in the course, it is recommended to have a computer (laptop or desktop) with at least 8 GB of RAM and 15 GB of free disk space, a compatible audio interface, MIDI keyboard, headphones and/or a pair of monitors for listening, and a Digital Audio Workstation (Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, Studio One). In case of doubts about which DAW to purchase, the teacher will provide guidance during the first lesson of the course.
