Musical Disclosure by Perform School of music Episode 12

Let's conclude our brief journey on ABBA by discussing the group's seventh studio album, "Super Trouper".

Let's conclude our brief journey on ABBA by discussing the group's seventh studio album, "Super Trouper" (1980).

Remaining at the top of charts across Europe for several weeks, thanks to the enormous success of singles like "The Winner Takes It All" and "Super Trouper", the album showcases the band's keen attention to the latest trends and marks a significant shift towards more pop/rock sounds after a period heavily influenced by the disco music of the 1970s.

The content and style of the lyrics are also different, darker, reflecting various challenges faced by the group, including the divorce between Björn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Fältskog.

The album's title is a reference to one of the most famous follow spots used at the time, featured at the beginning of the music video for the single "Super Trouper". This instrument was commonly used for lighting in various settings, such as theater and television.

We present to you "Super Trouper". Enjoy listening!
