Musical Disclosure by Perform School of music Episode 34

Let's change genre, talking about one of the most known and influential electronic groups of the last decades: Daft Punk.

Welcome back to a new installment of Musical Disclosure, the music education column by Perform School of Music. This week, we're decidedly changing genres to talk about one of the most well-known and influential electronic groups of recent decades: Daft Punk.

The Parisian duo, comprised of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, made their debut in 1997 with the album "Homework." This album immediately showcased Daft Punk's experimental inclinations, blending house, techno, and experimental electronic music. Produced using synthesizers and extensively utilizing sampling techniques, the album was created in Bangalter's 'studio,' namely his bedroom, and features one of the duo's most famous singles, 'Around The World.'

In 2001, the duo further solidified their reputation with 'Discovery,' an album that aimed to redefine the concept of dance music. By blending electronic sounds with samples of old hits, Daft Punk created a unique sonic experience.

From this latter album, we bring you the renowned 'Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.' Enjoy listening!
