Musical Disclosure by Perform School of music Episode 110

Second appointment of the week dedicated to Lucio Dalla.

In 1971, Dalla participated in the Sanremo Festival with "4/3/1943," which coincides with his date of birth. The song, although not winning, achieved considerable success and marked the beginning of a period of great creative ferment. In 1972, Dalla returned to San Remo presenting one of his most celebrated and appreciated songs, "Piazza Grande." The period between 1975 and 1979 was characterized by further artistic growth for Lucio Dalla. In 1976, he released the album "Automobili," which represented a return to more varied sounds and more pronounced musical exploration. In 1979, "Lucio Dalla" was released, a historic album that included some of his most famous songs and featured several well-known names from the Italian music scene, such as Francesco De Gregori, Ron, and Bruno Lauzi. In September 1980, the artist from Bologna released the album "Dalla," which immediately became an extraordinary success, selling 600,000 copies. This album, characterized by a singer-songwriter rock sound, was enthusiastically received by both the public and critics, cementing eight songs as genuine classics of Dalla's repertoire. Among these, standout tracks include "Futura," "Cara," and "La sera dei miracoli," songs that immediately became emblematic. In 1981, Dalla released "Q Disc," a mini-album that marked an important phase of artistic maturity, featuring memorable tracks like "Telefonami tra vent'anni" and "Ciao a te." During the same period, Dalla produced Renzo Zenobi's album "Telefono elettronico," also lending his voice. At the end of 1981, the band accompanying Dalla decided to pursue a parallel career, officially forming as "Stadio." In 1983, Dalla released the album "1983" and contributed to the soundtrack of the film "Lontano da dove." 1986 saw the release of "Caruso," a song that narrates the last days of the tenor Enrico Caruso. The song sold millions of copies worldwide and became a classic of Italian music. Dalla also embarked on a tour in the United States, culminating in the double live album "DallAmeriCaruso."

Today's listening is "L'ultima luna"!
