Are you interested in refining your musical skills in a recording session? The Perform School of Music presents an exclusive masterclass conducted by Cesare Chiodo, a unique opportunity for musicians to enhance their skills in the context of studio recording and to get a close look at the approach of one of the greatest names in contemporary Italian music. Cesare Chiodo boasts immense experience and illustrious collaborations with some of Italy's biggest names, such as Laura Pausini, Raf, Adriano Celentano, Nek, Andrea Bocelli, Ornella Vanoni, and Mina.
When and Where
The masterclass will take place on April 5th and 6th at the Perform School of Music.
During the first day, participants will have the opportunity to take part in setting up the recording room, cabling activities, microphone placement, and preparing the room and recording session.
The second day will be dedicated to the actual recording activity: Cesare Chiodo will guide the performers in recording a rhythm section of three elements (drums, bass, guitar), providing feedback, critiques, and valuable suggestions for effectively tackling the challenges of studio recording and interfacing with industry professionals.

What You Will Learn

During the masterclass, Cesare Chiodo will offer valuable insights into addressing the challenges and opportunities of a recording session from both the performer's and producer's perspectives, a role that Cesare Chiodo will assume. Participants will have the opportunity to better understand how to adapt their musical performances to the song and style required to achieve optimal results in a professional recording studio. Through in-depth discussions and personalized feedback, various strategies and approaches will be explored to effectively communicate with other musicians during a recording, manage their sound and interpretation of the song to achieve the best possible result, and address the unique challenges that may arise during a recording session. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to explore the importance of active listening and collaboration with sound engineers and other studio professionals, thereby gaining a more comprehensive understanding of the recording process and studio work dynamics.

Costs and Participation Modalities

The masterclass is limited to a maximum of 12 participants. Musicians can participate as "Performers" at a cost of 120.00 euros VAT included, while "non-performers" can attend and actively participate in the entire masterclass (without recording their instrument) at a cost of 90.00 euros VAT included.
For those who wish to participate as Performers, excellent mastery of their instrument is required.
Payment can be made in the following ways: full payment upon registration (10% discount) or in two installments of 60.00 euros upon registration and balance of the non-discounted fee upon arrival at the venue.
