Keyboard Setup Awareness

Seize the opportunity to explore the world of keyboards with Paolo Gambino: his secrets can become yours, taking your sound to a professional level!

The Keyboards Setup Awareness course stems from Paolo Gambino's idea to address various topics related to the complex world of keyboard instruments. The extensive knowledge required for optimal use of these instruments often makes it challenging to delve into during a regular instrument course. The course aims to provide students with the essential knowledge for a comprehensive understanding of their equipment and keyboards in general, enabling them to make the most of these instruments' capabilities.

During the course, various issues and peculiarities of both studio and live usage are analyzed. The main sound synthesis techniques are presented practically, with demonstrations and exercises aimed at reproducing the sounds of the most famous songs and the primary keyboard instruments (including Hammond, Clavinet, Wurlitzer), as well as other instruments. These techniques are contextualized in the real practice of keyboards, with particular attention to the characteristics that distinguish the arrangement of keyboard parts.

The student will learn to effectively manage their setup both in the studio and in live performances, delving into specific software (Mainstage, Camelot) and exploring the numerous possibilities offered by the MIDI protocol. This way, the student can achieve a seamless and functional integration of their hardware and software setup, enabling them to manage their sounds and respective balance effectively, even on stage.
