Paolo Ricca, full professor PERFORM School of music®
Pianist, keyboardist, composer, and arranger after classical studies obtained in '90 the Advanced Diploma in jazz piano at CPM in Milan with Franco D'Andrea, later continuing studies with Riccardo Zegna.
He has thousands of concerts to his credit in festivals, theaters, and clubs in Italy and abroad, collaborating with hundreds of Italian and international artists.
He has participated in over 100 record releases as a composer, arranger, and instrumentalist.
With his Paolo Ricca Group, he has also released 4 albums, one of which was noted as the "Best album of the year" in the annual poll among Italian music journalists held by the magazine "Musica e dischi", and one that featured British guitarist John Etheridge as a guest (Soft Machine).
He also collaborates with David Cross, violinist of King Crimson, with the flutist/saxophonist Theo Travis (Soft Machine, Robert Fripp), and with the American singer Arthur Miles.
In 2022, he finally releases his solo piano CD "My Italian Piano Songbook," featuring John Etheridge on guitar in two songs.
He creates music for theatrical productions (Stefano Benni, Angela Finocchiaro), films (Mimmo Calopresti, Silvio Soldini, Simona Ercolani, F. Patierno), and for RAI (Italian public television).
He has extensive experience in teaching, having worked over the years with public and private music institutes.
He collaborates with the Swiss music magazine Plug n’ Play by publishing his educational articles in the Masterclass section – Piano and Keyboards.
